The Tudor Renovation
The renovation of our client’s Tudor Revival home involved a full-gut of the existing kitchen, along with new flooring, baseboards, fireplaces, lighting, paint and furniture throughout the ground floor. An 80s era addition completed by the previous owners left the house feeling detached from, and lacking in, the historic details and character of the original property. An integral part of our design was to unify the original house with this more recent addition, as well as designing a more functional and elevated kitchen for the family. Original elements such as the exposed brick were kept in tact, and complemented by the modern black and white tones of the new cabinetry and stone counters. Unlacquered brass cabinetry hardware and plumbing fixtures infused a heritage feel to the interior. The industrial silhouettes of Miele appliances offset the traditional elements in the space, while mid-century lighting and furniture accents bring a modern flare to the interior.
